Three words...Park Hyatt Goa
Athough living in India has truly been a once in a lifetime experience, the trials and tribulations of daily life can sometimes lead to great frustration and even madness!
But not to worry, because my batteries have been recharged and calmness and sanity have once again returned to my being. Just hearing 3 tiny words...Park Hyatt Goa is enough conjure up beautiful images of peacefulness, serenity, harmony and well, delicious piles of organic greens!
Since it was yet another holiday here in India, we decided to take full advantage and fly to Goa for the weekend. We landed in Goa last Friday afternoon and instead of hiring an overpriced car from the resort (which was just 15 km away), we took a cheaper alternative...the airport taxi. This poor car had to be the mother of all jalopies. Sudhir curiously lifted the floor mat. Had the holes been slightly bigger, we could have been the Flinstones.
India is full of jimmy rigged devices...A classic example though I was not willing to try this one out, especially while in motion.

We were joking that security might not allow us in when we pulled into the resort. Sure enough they stopped us at the front of the gate and we had to walk through the gate and into the resort. However, that was for security purposes or so they said! ;)
So after checking in, we wasted no time and quickly changed and headed to the beach. The weather was quite warm and the water temperature felt even warmer than the air temperature, but nonetheless spent a fabulous afternoon at the beach.
The beach is lovely with relatively few annoyances. A great sandy beach that you can walk on for seemingly miles!

Sunset at the resort

There really was no need to even leave the resort, so we didn't. We've been to Goa twice now and have yet to see anything other than the airport and this resort. Maybe next time, we'll venture out. But for this trip, we were quite happy to stay put, indulge, and be pampered.
First night we both fully satisfied our cravings. There's several food items you just can't get here in India. Sudhir's craving, as you can imagine, was none other than beef. Mine was simply greens. I ordered a grilled pear and gorgonzola salad, which came with lettuce that I could only dream about here. It was green and organic and so lovely that I ordered another and the second plate of green was piled even higher than the first.
Astounded by the sight of beautiful lettuce, I had to ask where it came from. And based on the price, I should have known...imported from Germany and Malaysia!
But it was so well worth the price!
Didn't take a before picture, but here's the after picture. Goa does the body good!

Oh thanks Lisa and Sudhir, I just wandered off to Goa for few minutes. Even though your resort sounds to be a bit more advanced than the resort we went to, with the lobby inside a ship with an on-deck disko that was free of charge one night for guests. Priceless.
Hear from you soon!
